Celine Garcia was born in 1958 at Oran (Algeria)

She discovers very soon the theater that her parents inpired her :
puppets made with stoppers, or mere bottle caps that her dad presents her at the footboard, great poems that mummy declaims aloud in the car while they were going for the sunday stroll. Dad is driving and Celine is drinking in thoses words, barely spoiled by the noise of the car’s engine. She echoes those words very loud for her mother.

Very soon THEATER HAS TALES TO TELL.

When baby cries, they take her on board in the car or on the motorbike, they open the window and baby falls asleep, hair streaming in the wind, the salty air of the harbour of Oran. From them she has a TASTE FOR THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA. She keeps in mind the CROSSING during the war in Algeria, and this air of the open sea she engraves into her unfailingly while her parents give her a little green suitcase made of papier-mâché, as if they were going for a holiday, to avoid the trauma of the war.

They leave « to play », that is what they are pretending.
The place where we arrive is cold and empty, true. No furniture, the mother invents once again the transformation. She metamorphoses the only metallic case into a huge desk so luxurious for this child. Here, sitting on the ground, she learns how to read and write.

« Thanks to Theatre I have discovered the hyphen, THE LINK »

She would find water and earth, later in Balaruc-les-Bains, a spa town in the south of France. There she wrote an instalment about the history of hot springs, named « EARTH – THE ELEMENTARY ELEMENT » illustrated by the photographer J.C Martinez. She is fascinated by composite soil. In Beziers, she would be moved by Marie Rouanet’s literature. Later, she would be interested in the poet François Fabié’s works, thanks to a symposium in 2008.

She is in contact with the Iberian fire Arabic and Andalousian, Garcia Lorca and Vicente Aleixandre’s poetry, owner of the Nobel Prize. Her doctoral thesis was about Vicente Aleixandre. Theater, comparative literature, written, oral, music, danse, picture… she loves the pluridisciplinarity for it is freedom, movement, trip, trouble, hybrid and the emblematic link to which she gives a concrete expression in Dramatic Arts.

« An other world is possible, that is what Theater offers , as much as visual space, time is what we share there », she says.
She like being considered as a woman of letters since she likes two things : questionning and acceptance. Garcia Lorca said : « Working, working, in order to protest. »

In 2005 she would meet Armand Gatti, who would help her to create her bright and atypical conception of the Living and the artistic spirit. She would publish a tribute to him, which would join the library of the Comédie Française.
